Question Flags
Question flags get applied to an audit when that specific question fails. So if you have a specific review or feedback process you want to use for different requirements, question flags are the way to go. Once we set up flags, we can use them to organize audit results so that our team can access exactly what they are looking for in a flash, or set up automated emails to share targeted feedback to providers. See the step-by-step below to get started:
Go to the question studio tab and select the relevant question set and click the edit icon to the right of a question
Here are some question flags that we recommend we use:
Monitor: This applies to certain requirements where you may not need to reach out to the provider immediately or have them create an amended note, but you would like to see improvements over time. This flag is especially useful on any requirements which are measured over time.
Example question: “Were the goals listed not 0 or 100% for 3 consecutive sessions in a row?”
Suggested email workflow: Monthly scheduled emails to the primary provider
BCBA/RBT Address: This applies to requirements that are specific to either the BCBA or RBT present during the session. For example, a 97153 session’s goals data may be the RBT’s primary responsibility, whereas requiring all parties who were present to sign the note would be the BCBA’s responsibility as well.
Example question for RBT Address (97153 template): “On a 97153 direct care service note, are the date of the goals and the date of the note identical?”
Suggested email workflow: Weekly scheduled emails to the BCBA and RBT respectively
Audit Flags
To further optimize audit review, organization and feedback, you can go to ‘Manage Flags’ in the Question Studio and add some additional flags which can be applied manually to certain audits. Some great examples include these additional audit flags:
Amendment Needed: Depending on insurer and scenario, it can help to submit amended notes based on the errors caught in Brellium.
Suggested email workflow: Instant emails
Monitor Provider: If you are beginning to notice repeat errors from a specific BCBA or RBT, or if a provider is new/in training, you may want to create the flag ‘Monitor Provider’ to keep closer track of their audits and potentially provide them with support/training resources.
Suggested email workflow: Weekly scheduled emails
